If you use Facebook in your web browser, you are familiar with the communications function, and built-in website, but the situation changes when you switch to mobile applications. Facebook shared Facebook and Messenger on two mobile applications.
You need a messenger app.
If you want to send and receive Facebook messages on your iPad, you’ll need to download the Facebook Messenger app from iPad apps. After you download the Messenger app and are logged in, you do not need to have a Facebook app to send or receive messages. Click the Messenger app to open it.
When you first boot Facebook Messenger you are prompted to answer a few questions and specify your login to Facebook. You should only do this when you first start the application.
An application can request your phone number, access your address book, and the ability to send you a notification. You can opt out of the application of your phone number or address book. Facebook wants to get as much information, but you can use Messenger, without giving up their full list of contacts. Messenger app also works if you do not include the notice, though, if you use Facebook messages regularly, notifications are a useful feature.
How to use the messenger app.
When you open the Messenger app icons and names of Facebook members, about which you have written in the past, are displayed in the left pane. People who are currently on the network, marked with a green circle appear at the top of the panel. The rest of your contacts that are offline are displayed below it.
When you choose a friend on Facebook, which is on the network, you can communicate with them in real time. If you are sending a message to someone who is not online, the message will be stored and delivered the next time the recipient is on Facebook. Here’s how to send a message
Open the Messenger application and tap the name of one of your Facebook contacts in the left pane to start or continue a conversation.
Enter your message and touch the arrow to the right of the text input field, to publish it.
This basic message format is sufficient for many, but there are add-ons that you can send in addition to your post.
Tap one of the icons below the field writing your message, to add an image, insert a video, record a voice message and send a location, as well as other parameters.
Tap a smiley in the text input field to add to the message sticker, GIF, or smiley.
If the addition is not sent automatically, click the arrow to send it.
Starting a message with someone new.
If you are actively sending messages to the web version of Facebook, your message history is displayed in the Messenger app. If you do not see the name of the person you want to send a message to, tap the pencil icon and paper on the left panel.
In the “To” field on the screen “New message” start typing the name of the Facebook participant, and select the right person from the search results. After you send a message, your name, and icon will appear on the left panel, along with all other members of Facebook, who you’ve had.
What else can the messenger do?
Do not lose sight of the phone receiver and video camera icons in the upper right corner of the Messenger screen. Use them to initiate free voice or video calls to anyone in your contact list, which is online – marked by a green circle. You will need to give the app permission to access your camera and microphone at the first use of these functions, but after that, the process will be trouble-free.
Why did Facebook split posts and Facebook?
According to CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook has created a separate application “Messages” to improve the quality of service to its customers. It seems more likely that Facebook wanted to simplify the messaging service in the hope that people will choose to use it instead of text messaging. The more people become dependent on the Messenger application, the more they rely on Facebook, and the more likely they will continue to use it.
