What is “Search History” on Instagram?
In this article, “search history” refers to what is displayed in the “recently” item when trying to search on the search tab (magnifying glass icon).
The most recently searched accounts and hashtags are displayed, and you can search again with one tap. The function itself is very useful.
How to Delete Search History
The procedure is the same for both iPhones and Android. In the following, I will explain using the iPhone.
- Open the menu from your profile page in the Instagram app and go to “Settings”
- Tap “Privacy settings and security”
- Tap “Clear Search History” at the bottom of the menu
- Tap “Clear search history”
- When the final confirmation pop-up appears, tap “Yes”
The history is now completely deleted.
If you correspond, as in the image above, the “Recent” item will not be clean.
No way to search without leaving a history
For example, “YouTube” has a function in ” Incognito mode ” that allows you to watch without leaving a search history. Unfortunately, “Instagram” does not have such a function.
